Mr. Donald W. “Don” McIntire, 84, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away Monday, February 16, 2026, in Quincy Village.
Born January 29, 1942, in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Joseph and Thelma (Eighenbrode) McIntire.
He was a graduate of Fairfield High School with the Clas of 1959. He later received his Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Education from Shippensburg State Teacher’s College. He attended Trinity Washington University and earned his master’s degree in business from Penn State University in State College, PA.
Don was a business teacher for the Frederick County Board of Education for over 29 years. He retired in 1994.
He was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church, Blue Ridge Summit, PA; honor fraternities of Pi Omega Pi at Shippensburg State Teacher’s College and Delta Kappa Epsilon at Penn State. Don traveled extensively including all 50 states, over 100 countries and all 7 continents. He also enjoyed reading, especially newspapers.
He is survived by one nephew, Theodore “Ted” Eighenbrode; and one niece, Anne Wilson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Alice Garland; one brother, Stanley McIntire; and one half-brother, Theodore C. Eighenbrode.
Details regarding a memorial service will be forthcoming.
Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fairfield, PA, will be private and at the convenience of the family.
