WAYNESBORO — Waynesboro closed out its home schedule by splitting a two-game bocce match with James Buchanan and honoring nine seniors in a pregame ceremony.
James Buchanan took the opener 6-5 before Waynesboro responded with a 6-1 victory in Game 2.
Game 1: James Buchanan 6, Waynesboro 5
The first match was tightly contested throughout, with both teams trading points in a back-and-forth battle on the court.
James Buchanan capitalized on key throws late to secure a narrow one-point win. Waynesboro kept pace with strong placement shots near the pallino but came up just short in the final frame.
Game 2: Waynesboro 6, James Buchanan 1
Waynesboro regrouped in the second game, finding consistency and control early.
The Indians built momentum with well-placed green balls that forced James Buchanan into difficult angles. The home team extended its lead steadily and closed out the match with a five-point margin.
