Mr. James Gordon “Jimmy” Haskell, 81, of Williamsport, died Saturday evening, January 25, 2026, at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown. He was the husband of Jacqueline Petit.

Born November 1, 1944, in Laurel, he was a son of the late Reginald Patrick Haskell, and the late Dorothy E. Merson.

Mr. Haskell owned and operated Haskell’s Heating and Air Conditioning, Clarksville.

He was a Patriotic American with Christian values. If found in a predicament or quandary, or merely as a response to excitement, he would calmly exclaim “Mercy”.

Living on a farm afforded James to have many animals, all of which he loved; cows, donkeys and horses, and guinea keets. He also had great fondness for dogs, and has called such breeds as Great Pyrenees and Burmese Mountain Dogs his companion.

Besides his wife, Mr. Haskell is survived by his children Kim MacKenzie and her spouse Tom of Clarksville, and Anthony Haskell and his spouse Miles Barnes of Beltsville; by grandsons who referred to him as “Pappa Jim”, Kurtis, James and Thomas MacKenzie; his brother Kenneth Merson; his former spouse, Sandra Haskell-Feneley and spouse Mark of London, England; as well as many members of the Leisher family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son in 2025, Ricky James Haskell; and by siblings Gil and Sandra Merson.

The Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, Hagerstown, is assisting the family with private arrangements.
