Students and recent graduates seeking hands-on experience in environmental conservation have an opportunity this summer through paid internships with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. Positions are available in state parks and forests across the commonwealth, as well as within the Bureau of Geological Survey and DCNR’s central office in Harrisburg.
These internships offer valuable career training in areas such as park management, field research, environmental education, communications and natural resource maintenance. The paid positions are open to college students and recent graduates with an interest in public service and stewardship of Pennsylvania’s natural lands.
State conservation and resources officials are urging applicants not to delay, as many postings are set to close this week. Details about openings, qualifications and application instructions are available through the commonwealth’s employment portal at employment.pa.gov.
The summer intern program provides a pathway for participants to gain practical experience supporting Pennsylvania’s 124 state parks and 2.2 million acres of state forest land while contributing to conservation and recreation initiatives statewide.
