CHAMBERSBURG – Enthusiasts marveled at intricate layouts featuring trains on nine different scales during the Cumberland Valley Model Railroad Club’s Holiday Open House, which drew about 200 visitors daily over six days for a total of 1,000 to 1,200 attendees.
The event ran from noon to 4 p.m. on Dec. 14, 21 and 27, and will be held again Jan. 3, 11 and 18 at the club’s headquarters, 440 Nelson St. Admission is free, allowing families to explore displays including the world’s smallest electric train in T scale and a dedicated Thomas the Tank Engine setup.
Club members operated the exhibits, showcasing everything from vintage steam engines to modern high-speed models. “It was a joy seeing kids’ faces light up,” said one volunteer, as visitors navigated the detailed scenes of mountains, cities and holiday villages.
The club encouraged followers to check updates at www.cvmrrc.com or on Facebook at Cumberland Valley Model Railroad Club Events.
