WAYNESBORO – Mainstreet Waynesboro Inc. invited little Whos and their families to out-grinch the Grinch when it turned the former Elks Lodge into “Whosboro” for a holiday celebration Saturday, Dec. 20. The event ran from 9 to 11 a.m. at 66 W. Main St., offering youngsters a morning of Whoville-themed crafts, treats, giveaways and story time capped by a special performance from Mr. Grinch.
Organizers said the program was designed for children ages 2 and older, who were admitted for $5, while parents were invited to attend at no cost. Kids were encouraged to arrive in costume to compete for prizes and to bring plenty of holiday cheer, whether or not the famously grouchy Grinch approved.
