GREENCASTLE-ANTRIM- This week, the Franklin County community got to see one of their own on the world’s most popular sports channel. ESPN’s top ten plays of the week featured the Blue Devils point guard/shooting guard, Alex Albright as he shot a last minute three-quarter court shot at the buzzer. It was a once in a lifetime shot that brought everyone in the gym to their feet.
On Dec. 12 the Blue Devils varsity team played host to the Northern York Polar Bears in the fourth game of the season. Albright, who wears the number 2 on his jersey was number one that night scoring 17 points in the Blue Devils 62-38 win. But it was the amazing last second basket that brought fans off the bench and onto the court and put Albright in the four spot of ESPN’s Top Ten Plays.
The Blue Devils have been on a roll winning their last three games to have a current record of 4-1, with Albright being the lead scorer in the last three games. The Blue Devils next game is Thursday, Dec. 18 at home against the West Perry Mustangs.
