WAYNESBORO— The Waynesboro Area YMCA held its annual Holiday Craft Show on Saturday, Dec. 6, drawing local residents to support the community and kick off their Christmas shopping.
The event, which ran from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., featured 40 vendors showcasing various crafty creations and products. Admission was free, encouraging guests to stock up on local goods. The Y Cafe’ Concession area was open for attendees to purchase food.
All proceeds from the vendor registration fees were allocated to the YMCA’s “Partner with Youth” program. This charitable, nonprofit organization works to improve the quality of community life by ensuring that no one is excluded from memberships and programs due to a lack of funds. The Y financially assists more than 350 individuals annually.
“We want to show everyone all the great changes and additions that the Y has been doing as we can continue to welcome everyone into the Y,” a Y staff member said. “And we also wanted the community to know that we think it’s important to support all the local vendors and that we support each other and the small businesses.”
YMCA staff members were available throughout the day to give facility tours and share information about upcoming programs and events. The organization also announced an upcoming “Swim with Santa!” event scheduled for the following Sunday, Dec. 14, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
