Mrs. Reba L. (Coy) Rowe, 80, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, Saturday, November 29, 2025, in Chambersburg hospital, Chambersburg, PA.
Born October 27, 1945, in Harrisonville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Virginia (Layton) Coy.
She and her husband, the late George “Sonny” Rowe, Jr., were married October 24, 1964, in Highfield, MD. They enjoyed over 48 years of marriage together before Sonny passed away May 20, 2013.
In her younger years, Mrs. Rowe worked at Stanley Company, Chambersburg. She later worked at the Knitting Mill in Waynesboro, and Connie’s Sportswear. She formally retired in 1993.
She was a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #695, where she served as chaplain. Better known as “Nanny” or “Aunt Reb” to most, she loved to spend time with her family, including the apple of her eye, her grandson Dylan, beloved nieces Marilyn Landers, Raven Gennaro and her daughters, and many, many, others. She enjoyed doing seek and find word puzzles, playing bar bingo, trips to the casino, and playing poker with her family. She also loved her grand-dog Max whom she spoiled every day.
Reba is survived by her beloved daughter-in-law, Kitty Rowe of Waynesboro; grandson, Dylan Rowe and his wife Katy of Chambersburg; one infant great-grandson, Ellis C. Rowe; her siblings William Coy and his wife Sherry of Chambersburg, Dennis Coy and his wife Anita of Shippensburg, PA, Jeffrey Coy of Waynesboro, and Rose Coy and her companion Terry Sweigart; many nieces & nephews as well as an extended host of family & friends whom she treated as her own.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, George W. “Tinker” Rowe IV; one brother, Charles Coy; and two sisters, Patricia Coy Miller and Mary Coy Cleary.
Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 3, 2025 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro with her cherished grandson, Dylan Rowe officiating.
Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, 953 S. Potomac St., Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Wednesday afternoon in the funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home to help defray funeral expenses.
