Mr. William A. DeLise, 77, of Waynesboro, PA passed away Monday, November 24, 2025, in his home.
Born March 23, 1948 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Dominick D. and Dorothy V. (Brickwedel) DeLise.
Bill was drafted into the United States Army, later choosing to enlist. He went on to serve over 24 years in the Army, including during Vietnam and Desert Storm. He retired as a Master Sergeant. Following his retirement, he continued to work for the Department of Defense as a civilian.
He was an active and faithful member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Waynesboro and was a member of William Max McLaughlin V.F.W. Post #695, Waynesboro.
Bill enjoyed collecting miniature cars, watching nascar and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by two daughters, Nancy A. DeLise (Dave Copeland) of Dedham, MA and Elizabeth A. DeLise (Troy) of Fort Bragg, NC; five grandchildren, Sophia Stemen, Theodore Stemen, Cecilia Stemen, Michael Stemen and Audie Stemen; one sister, Teresa Walten of Flemington, NJ; one brother, Frank DeLise of Leesburg, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kelly R. (Lohr) DeLise on August 31, 2002.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, December 2, 2025 in St. Andrew Catholic Church, 12 N. Broad St., Waynesboro, with Rev. Christopher Onyeneke, MSSCC officiating. Burial will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery, Waynesboro, where full military honors will be conducted by the honor guard of Charles Nitterhouse V.F.W. Post #1599, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Tuesday morning, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, PA.
