HAGERSTOWN – Who says you can’t have tacos and pizza at the same time? Not The 301 Tacos and Pizza, which is located in the Long Meadow Shopping Center. The popular restaurant, started as a local food truck, opened its door in late 2024 and offers some unique flavors to the residents of Washington and Franklin counties.
According to the company website, “We are passionate about uniting two beloved cuisines into an exciting fusion menu with handcrafted specialty pizzas to flavorful tacos loaded with fresh ingredients; every bite is made with care.”
With a mission statement like that, I was excited to try out this new dining experience. The dining area was decent in size for the small corner location within the shopping center. Set up in an “L” configuration, there are both booth and table options for seating. The booths are roomy with plenty of elbow space, so you don’t get that claustrophobic feeling.
I was looking forward to the menu. As a fan of both pizza and tacos, I couldn’t wait to see what was available. My eye quickly caught an all-you-can-eat pizza bar, which was tempting, but I wanted to try their tacos, so I decided to go for the day’s special which was two slices of pizza and a drink for $7. That is a deal I can get behind. I went with the traditional pepperoni and cheese and my usual drink order, a lemonade.
The menu had a large variety of specialty pizzas if your looking to take the family out or get together with some friends for dinner. There is the “The 301” a sixteen-inch double pepperoni, bacon, jalapeño and topped with a pepperoni ranch drizzle. An alternate version, “The 301” white pizza, which has a garlic butter base, ricotta, mozzarella, and a balsamic glaze drizzle. Other specialty pizza options are steak and cheese, BBQ chicken, buffalo chicken, carnitas, chicken bacon ranch, and spinach and mushroom, just to name a few.
Next on the menu are the tacos, burritos and quesadillas. They all come in beef, chicken, steak and shrimp options and for non-meat eaters, bean and cheese and spinach and mushrooms are also available. Each taco comes with a variety of seasoning and addition options such as cucumber salsa, cilantro, onions, queso fresco and a creamy sriracha sauce. Get ready for a little heat when you order these delightful dishes.
I decided on the grilled shrimp tacos, with onions, cilantro and the creamy sauce. You get two small tacos, so I definitely recommend getting an appetizer or a slice or two of pizza. Speaking of appetizers, the menu offered several options to get the meal started. Cheese sticks, garlic bread or knots, toasted ravioli, fried pickle chips, zucchini blossoms, chicken flautas and chorizo stuffed jalapenos. To start my meal, I got an order of the mozzarella sticks which came with marinara dipping sauce.
The 301 Tacos and Pizza boast a large variety of options, and they certainly have that. I was impressed with the quality of the food and the uniqueness of the flavors. This is not the run-of-the-mill pizza or taco diner, and it is a dining experience everyone in the area should try.
