BOONSBORO – The Town of Boonsboro is calling on local families and businesses to unleash their holiday creativity by decorating 27-inch flat cut-out ornaments for display on light posts along Main Street.
The event, open to all participants in the Boonsboro area, charges $15 per ornament, with 100% of proceeds donated to community causes. Organizers emphasize decorating only one side of each lightweight ornament to ensure durability as they hang outdoors and endure winter weather.
Decorated ornaments can be dropped off at Boonsboro Town Hall, 21 N. Main St., from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through Dec. 2. Town Hall will close at noon on Nov. 26 and remain shuttered Nov. 27-28 for Thanksgiving.
“This is a chance to show your holiday spirit and add sparkle to our downtown,” town officials said in an announcement. The initiative aims to foster community engagement during the festive season, transforming Main Street into a canvas of personalized holiday cheer.
