CHAMBERSBURG – The opening ceremony for the Rotary Club of Chambersburg’s third annual display of American flags will be held Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 9 a.m.
“Rotary Club of Chambersburg believes in the importance of honoring those who have made a difference in our freedom, our nation, our community and our hearts,” said Heather Kohler, Rotary event chair. “The opening ceremony is a time to remember, celebrate and recognize the heroes who have served and sacrificed for our freedom.”
Two hundred flags will be on display at Sellers Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Philadelphia Avenue in Chambersburg Nov. 9-16.
The Rotary Club would like to thank its sponsors – Sellers Funeral Home, Mary & Clint Bolte Trust, Wellspan Health, Patriot Federal Credit Union and Racial Reconciliation of Franklin County for helping to make this event a reality.
The public is also invited to visit the field of flags in Chambersburg during the week of Nov. 11 from the hours of dawn to dusk. “For those who find it difficult to travel to Arlington National Cemetery or other national monuments commemorating our veterans, this is a great way to pay respects right here at home,” Kohler said.
