WAYNESBORO – Waynesboro police are doing their part in helping ensure the community is informed of local sources for both meals and grocery items during this time of the government shutdown and a shuttering of SNAP benefits.
“If you or someone you know is struggling to put food on the table right now, there are local programs and community partners ready to help.,” police noted. “Franklin County has a number of food pantries, community meal programs and food drives offering free groceries and meals for anyone in need—no questions asked.”
Various locations across Franklin County are offering free groceries, and several local churches and organizations are hosting free community meals. Among local drives are:
–Franklin County Housing Authority: Food Drive – Oct. 27 to Dec. 15
