Used Book Sale to benefit Habitat in Franklin County, 55,000 items offered

CHAMBERSBURG – Habitat for Humanity of Franklin County and St. John’s United Church of Christ are once again teaming up to host their popular Used Book Sale benefiting Habitat’s local homebuilding efforts. This year’s sale features over 55,000 donated books, puzzles, games, movies, and more – the largest collection in the event’s history. All proceeds will support the construction of the next Habitat home in Franklin County.

The sale will be held at St. John’s UCC, 1811 Lincoln Way E., Chambersburg, on:

Friday, Oct. 24: 2–8 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 25: 9 a.m.–5 p.m.

Sunday, Oct. 26: Noon–4 p.m.

“This is the biggest book sale we’ve ever had,” said Mark Story, Habitat’s director of advancement. “It’s an amazing way to bring the community together and support affordable housing. 150+ volunteers contribute a collective 2,000 hours to run the sale. We’re especially grateful to St. John’s for hosting, BCM Payroll Services for their generous sponsorship, and The Butcher Shoppe for donating bags.”

Donations for this year’s event are now closed. Full details about the sale are available at sjucc1811.org/book-sale.
