Experience local artisans at Fall Fest. The Fall Fest at 1833 Schiers Market in Chambersburg promises a delightful experience for attendees on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This vibrant event will feature a variety of antiques, artisans, boutiques and special promotions, creating a perfect atmosphere for all-day fun. Visitors can explore unique crafts and local goods while enjoying the festive fall ambiance, making it an ideal outing for families and friends alike.

Discover delicious apple treats. The Tayamentasachta Apple Festival in Greencastle is set to take place on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Tayamentasachta Environmental Center. This annual event promises a delightful day filled with activities, including the C.V. Engine & Machinery Show and a delicious chicken BBQ starting at 11 a.m.. Attendees can enjoy a variety of fun activities such as face painting, scarecrow making, horse and wagon rides and displays from local artisans and clubs. The festival is particularly famous for its apple dumplings, alongside numerous other apple-themed treats that celebrate the fall harvest.

Don’t miss run, then Dogtoberfest. The second annual Paws 5K will take place at Memorial Park in Waynesboro, starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12. This event invites participants to walk, jog or run along scenic trails, either solo or accompanied by their leashed pets, emphasizing inclusivity for all skill levels. Following the race, winners will be announced and awards presented at 1 p.m. during Dogtoberfest, which runs from noon to 3 p.m. at Main Street Park.

Witness incredible talent live. On Oct. 12, the legendary Nitty Gritty Dirt Band will take the stage at the Luhrs Performing Arts Center in Shippensburg at 7:30 p.m.. The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, formed in 1966 in California, has been a pioneering force in American roots music for more than five decades. The band’s current lineup includes founding members Jeff Hanna and Jimmie Fadden, along with longtime member Bob Carpenter and newer additions. Throughout their career, they’ve seamlessly blended country, folk and rock genres, achieving success with hits like “Mr. Bojangles,” “Fishin’ in the Dark” and “Long Hard Road”.

Capture autumn vibes at Ivy Hill Farm. The Farm Festival at Ivy Hill Farm is set to take place on Saturday, Oct. 12, and Sunday, Oct. 13. Located at 13840 Smithsburg Pike, Smithsburg, Md., this annual event offers free admission to all attendees. The festival features a delightful array of activities, including food trucks serving various cuisines, live music performances and the opportunity to enjoy fresh apple cider and homemade apple butter. Families can explore a vibrant marketplace with a variety of vendors, while children can enjoy a dedicated kids zone. Additionally, festival-goers can indulge in delicious pies served with ice cream, as well as shop for seasonal items such as jellies, jams, mums, pumpkins and other fall decorations. This event promises a festive atmosphere perfect for celebrating the autumn season with family and friends.
