5 things to do this weekend

Chocolate lovers can indulge their sweet side this weekend as downtown Waynesboro transforms into a confectionery paradise for the annual Chocolate Excursion. The event, set for 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 7, invites participants to stroll the downtown sidewalks sampling chocolates and desserts from local restaurants and specialty shops, with a few guest vendors joining in the fun. Tickets cost $25 in advance or $30 at the door, and the afternoon will also feature the return of the Brownie Bake-off contest. Proceeds from the event support Mainstreet Waynesboro’s ongoing downtown revitalization efforts.

Sweeten your day with a stop at Grove Family Library, where cookies and community meet in perfect harmony. In honor of National Oreo Cookie Day, the library at 101 S. Ragged Edge Road in Chambersburg will hand out Oreo cookies to visitors on Friday, March 6, while supplies last. The tasty celebration, part of the Grove Family Library’s ongoing community events, invites patrons to indulge their sweet tooth while enjoying all that the library has to offer.

Color, laughter and creativity will fill the Square in downtown Greencastle when Chatty Chameleon hosts its Kids’ Paint Night from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 6. The event invites children to enjoy screen-free fun while expressing themselves through art in a safe, welcoming space. Parents can relax knowing their little artists are building confidence, independence and joy as they paint their own masterpieces.

From kitchen remodels to backyard makeovers, inspiration will be overflowing at the 2026 Home Show hosted by the Home Builders Association of Washington County this weekend at Hagerstown Community College’s ARCC Gym, 11400 Robinwood Dr. The annual showcase brings together top experts in the home improvement industry from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 7, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 8. Visitors can meet builders and designers, enjoy live music and sample offerings from food and beverage vendors. Admission is $2 and free for children 12 and younger. ASL interpreters will be available Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For details, readers may visit hbawc.org/homeshow-information.

Friendship and creativity take center stage this weekend at Vibrantly Wild in Waynesboro, where the Best Friend Craft Night invites adults to unwind and connect through hands-on fun. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 7, participants can choose from DIY stations such as bracelet making, canvas and mandala rock painting, or pressed flower bookmarks — all supplies, snacks and refreshments included. The $30 event encourages friends, sisters, coworkers and solo guests to relax, laugh and craft the day away at 37 W. Main St., with flexible one-hour arrival windows designed to keep the space cozy and welcoming.
