CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – A Chambersburg man is charged with first-degree murder and stalking after Pennsylvania State Police say he shot the victim multiple times over a personal matter, according to police and media reports. The incident happened at or near a shopping center.
Police and media reports say the victim, 44-year-old Thomas Thompson, was found dead in the 800 block of Lincoln Way West in Hamilton Township.
They say they took the suspect, 28-year-old Sage Morrison, into custody at his home and then to the county jail, media reports said.
Information surrounding the murder noted Thomspon first called police about a suspicious person just before 12:45 Friday afternoon.
As officers were responding, reports said, they received another call about a male wearing camouflage, shooting and then driving away in a red van.
A friend said Thompson had been living in a camper and was planning on leaving the area to live on the road.
