WAYNESBORO– Forrest Rhyne, a Waynesboro native, has recently been signed to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Rhyne graduated from Waynesboro Area High School in 2016 and went on to play football at Villanova University. He was a three-time All-Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) selection and was named the CAA Defensive Player of the Year in 2021.
After his college career, Rhyne signed with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent in 2022. He spent the season on the Colts’ practice squad and was elevated to the active roster for three games.
Rhyne has now returned to the commonwealth to play for the Steelers. The Steelers are coming off a 9-8 season and are looking to improve in 2023. Rhyne’s addition to the roster gives the Steelers another talented linebacker and should help them improve their defense.
The Steelers will open the 2023 season on September 8 against the New England Patriots.
