BLUE RIDGE SUMMIT – Three SGI employees at the Charmian Plant celebrated milestone anniversaries with the company in March:

● Steve King of Blue Ridge Summit marked 30 years with SGI on March 3. As an Environmental Technician, King is responsible for continuously auditing and monitoring environmental controls at the site to assure environmental safety and compliance.

● Charles Beatty of Cascade, Maryland, marked 40 years with SGI on March 7. Beatty, a Maintenance Mechanic, is responsible for improving and repairing the site’s heavy equipment, including conveyors, crushers, bucket elevators, fans, kilns, and mixers.

● Melodie Bingaman of Chambersburg marked 40 years with SGI on March 21. Bingaman is a Customer Care Representative and works with customers to understand their needs, communicating them to various departments and team members to ensure SGI adequately supports customer objectives.

“The longevity of our SGI employees fosters cohesion on our team and allows for the important transfer of knowledge to newer employees,” said SGI President Justin P. Dunlap. “These team members have made meaningful contributions in their areas of responsibility over the years and are sources of expertise and best practices everyday.”

More than a third of SGI team members are celebrating 10 years or more with the company in 2023, and 48 of those employees will celebrate milestone anniversaries similar to the ones recently marked by King, Beatty, and Bingaman.
