CHAMBERSBURG- Central Presbyterian Church presents the world premiere of “And So…”, a new musical about Jesus, His followers, and the impact of His relationships.

On stage for one night only, “And So …” premieres on Friday, April 7, at Central Presbyterian Church, 40 Lincoln Way West, Chambersburg, with performances at 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. The show is about one hour long with no intermission and may not be suitable for very young children due to depictions of violence Jesus endured and other serious topics (parental discretion is advised).

“And So…” tells stories of Jesus in a new way through the eyes of people whose lives were touched so deeply that they couldn’t help but follow Jesus. “And So…” features the debut performance of original music spanning several musical styles. The music is interwoven into the story, creating an experience that will appeal to listeners of all ages. Cast members describe the production as “intimate,” “relatable” and “healing.”

“I wrote this musical for several reasons,” explained Erin Adams, writer, director, music director and choreographer. “One main reason was to bring a voice to the power of Jesus’ relational ministry. When people encountered Jesus, they found healing, restoration, and a renewed sense of being; as I believe, they still can and do! From beginning to end, this musical highlights the theme of redemption as a result of knowing God in the flesh.”

The premiere of “And So …” features local talent: Erin Adams, Nick Adams, Maria Banks, Amanda Bietsch, Preston Cook, Josh Dunklebarger, Jen Good, Andrea Hadik,Josh Hadik, Sam Little, Jae Merriman, Valerie Merriman, Luke Oyler, Trena Oyler, Naomi Raber, Marcus Rauhut, and Kevin Sencion (as Jesus).

“The script and music physically moves my heart,” said Trena Oyler. “It propels me into a fuller understanding of Jesus’ redeeming love and healing, deepening my own faith and shaping my response. Come see the show and experience transformation with us. This is a perfect way to prepare our hearts during Holy Week.”
