In-room visitation for family and friends is returning to Hearthstone Retirement Home.

The board of directors has released new procedures post-COVID to fluctuate with the county covid positivity rate—a red, yellow, green system.

Some conditions will vary with each situation, but for all, in-room visitation is an option.  “Hearthstone is appreciative of everyone’s patience and understanding during these past two years as residents’ health and safety has been of utmost importance,” said Valorie Dick, board chair.

To date, no COVID deaths have been recorded for the facility and Hearthstone has been praised highly for going 23 months without any resident COVID cases.

Special activities such as a recent luau event have been held for residents, along with the regular games, crafts and special meal themes.

Hearthstone continues to operate as a non-profit home for seniors, as an intermediate home for those recently released from a hospital setting, and as a respite care facility giving caregivers a needed break in caring for loved ones.

The In-Home Care Services now has a Maryland, as well as Pennsylvania, license to be able to regionally care for loved ones in their own homes.
