Enjoy smooth classics—and more! Sussman, Jankura and Hepfer, featuring Andrew Sussman, Ken Jankura, and Sam Hepfer, will play jazz standards, originals and tunes from the Great American Songbook Friday from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Music Makers, 46 W. Main St., Waynesboro. On Sunday, downhome bluegrass music will be performed by Waynesboro Bluegrass Hootenanny (led by Johnny Calamari and Brad Munn), from 2 to 5 p.m. FREE.

Look to the skies. The Mont Alto Volunteer Fire Company carnival continues this week at the Richard K. Sleicher Event Complex, 603 S. Main St. The event includes rides, games and nightly entertainment beginning at 7 p.m. Kitchen opens every evening at 5:30 p.m., rides open at 6 p.m. Friday night’s entertainment is Dean Crawford and the Dunns River Band; Saturday night is Out of Line. The annual fireworks display will be Friday, beginning at dusk (rain date is Saturday, June 18).

Check out the rides. A Father’s Day Weekend Car and Truck Show will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Main Street from the library to Potomac Street. Vehicle registration is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Trophies will be presented at 2 p.m. Admission is free to spectators.

Get cool with the cars. Waynesboro Theatre will host a showing of “Cars 2” (G-1:46) at 11 a.m. and “Ford vs. Ferrari” (PG-13-2:32).

Wing it. The Hagerstown Aviation Museum is hosting a Father’s Day Open Airplane Day Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the museum, 14211 Basore Drive, Hagerstown. Bring the important fella in your life and the family out to the historic Fairchild Dome hangar and climb aboard museum aircraft & exhibits. Entry by donation.
